The Flower Pressing Workshop
The Sandwich System of Pressing
Before introducing you to the Sandwich System there are 3 important things to bear in mind at all times while pressing.
1. Flower pressing must be done as quickly as possible before the flowers wilt or dry out.
2. Do not work with more flowers than you can press in any one session.
3. Make sure that there is enough weight on the flowers so that they do not become wrinkled.
To press your flowers either use two sheets of blotting paper or a folded page of clean newsprint. I like to use clean newsprint. Take a double sheet of folded pressing paper with the open side towards you. Open the paper so that it is positioned like an open book with its fold towards the back and away from you.
