You’ll find that a stack of folded newspapers is the flower presser’s best friend.
A folded newspaper is used as padding between the sheets of pressed flowers. It picks up the excess moisture and keeps the pressing sheets dry.
Newspapers in tabloid size is excellent.
I find that a double page of a tabloid-size newspaper folded once is perfect for this purpose. But any newspaper will do as long as it has not been printed on shiny paper as this is not absorbent enough for pressing purposes.
I always use a double sheet of newspaper as a layer of padding between the layers of the pressed flowers.
